4 Ways to Find Direction When you are Feeling Confused.
Do you feel confused and in need of direction?
Is your mind currently a battle field?
Are you having one of those moments where you question almost everything?
Dear reader, you are not alone. There are a thousand and one people in the same fix daily and hungry for a solution.
Basically, we have all had a moment of confusion at one point or the other in our lives. This could happen when we seek answers or lack direction, but from my experience, getting stuck can actually help one to seek clarity.
However, when the state of confusion is prolonged and there seems to be no clear direction, it could trigger emotionally draining situations like anger, distress, unhealthy anticipation, anxiety and even mental health illnesses.
Now my friend, if you recognize any of these triggers, that is a clear sign that change should occur.
The best part is once you realize the discomfort in that state of confusion, you begin to seek solution and crave a new direction because you want a more productive and meaningful life.
Is it then safe to say your state of confusion can be the catalyst that pushes you to make better decisions?
I would say yes, but do not forget that you have to be uncomfortable with your current situation as that will be the drive you need to seek growth.
4 Ways to Find Direction When you are Feeling confused.
If you ever feel stuck and seek clarity, here are 4 ways to find direction when you are feeling confused:
1. Be Self Aware.
Self awareness should be priority in our daily life. It allows you acknowledge your current situation and take responsibility.
Sometimes, we strongly want to ignore the signs, but being self aware always reminds you about your reality when you are back home and in bed.
2. Recognize the discomfort.
Nothing valuable ever happens in your comfort zone. This is because you mostly likely get a repetition of all the things you enjoy, but fail to ask ‘is that all there is’?
Learn to recognize the things that make you uncomfortable and fail to align with your values. Recognize the abnormal trend, the feelings that come with it.
If you have to think about it twice, then you should probably question it. Do not remain in your comfort zone because you fear the unknown.
3. Change Something.
Honestly, if you have done something the same for a period of time and the outcome remains the same, that is your cue to change something.
Change the way you respond to situations, involve a mentor, if you’ve been too quiet then find your voice. Whatever you do, just don’t get stuck in the rut and wallow in self pity. To live a meaningful life, you should strive to create one for yourself.
4. Monitor Progress
While you are learning and unlearning, pause to monitor progress. Be sure that you are not going in circles and repeating the same things that made you uncomfortable. Find an accountability partner if that will help. Set daily targets to help you get closer to your goal.
As you go on the journey to seek clarity, remember that you matter, you are enough and self-love is not selfish.
