When God Gives You Lemons
Did I hear you say make lemonade? I feel like my faith and trust in God was literally tested earlier today in church. It’s the first Sunday in September which translates to thanksgiving in church. If you are not familiar with thanksgiving in a Nigerian church, then think gorgeously dressed men and women with cheerful faces, excited and ready to dance happily to lovely gospel music in all language possible. I had spent the better part of August gathering strenght from inspirational teachings and podcasts and songs that soothe the mind but I had never really practised ‘Thanking God in/for my current ordeal’. This was my chance to put into…

When Tomorrow Comes
When tomorrow comes And my alarm goes off But I’m scared to wake up Scared of the truth that awaits me each day The truth that he’s not a door away The truth that he’s not a call away The truth that he’s not a flight away Or even a road trip away Maybe if I sleep a little longer There might be a miracle It’s probably a dream that feels real Maybe if I ignore my alarm All this might go away They say truth hurts But they didn’t say it hurts this much My truth hurts And accepting it is my biggest task

Dear August
You hit me the hardest in all my years on earth. It’s the last day in August I don’t feel lighter or better. The way I feel about you now and will feel about you in years to come is not any fault of yours neither is it mine, but you now hold a date i always have to remember. Usually, I would get excited about saving dates on my calender but this one brings tears to my eyes. Painful tears because even if I decide not to save the date, it will forever be etched in my mind, soul, heart, body….every part of me. Dear August, you started out…

The first of every month is always very exciting for me. I feel I have just crossed a milestone and should celebrate. Today isn’t any different. I feel elated and thankful for the Gift of Life, Good Health and Loved ones. I am also excited about Phaytea’s Pulse and it’s lovely readers. Thank you all for stopping by and contributing, it makes the effort worth it. As I did in May, June and July, I will be sharing my Pulse for August but first here’s a rundown of how I fared in July: Post Scheduling & Pictures: I still write on impulse but the blog dairy helps. I get to put down my thoughts…

July 2017 Favourites
Hi Lovelies, did you have an interesting weekend? I didn’t get up to anything out of the ordinary this weekend and I feel like I should revisit my bucket list just to get ideas I can indulge in. August is hours away and I should really create some fun memories before the year ends. It is the last day in July and for some reason I woke up happy this morning. This is not to say I never have grumpy days but infact I think mornings are my best time of the day. If you are yet to get a hang of how to start your day, then I recommend you read 8…

Pulse for July 2017
The beginning of the second half of 2017 is here. Whoop whoop!!!! Started it off with a friend’s wedding and could not write my goals for July post yesterday because I got home really tired. If feels so good to be in good health, content and grateful…for the past months and the present. Very quickly, here’s how i fared with my goals in June: Blog Scheduling : I pretty much followed the four posts a day schedule except the week I was really busy with family engagements. I like the effort I put in. Health Goals: I am going to need something more than just writing a ‘to-do’ list to…

June 2017 Favourites
June can now easily pass as my favourite month. I’m not saying it is, (as I don’t want May which is my birth month to get jealous) but there are some dates in june that are remarkable. My Wedding Anniversary Le Hubby’s Birthday My Grandpa’s Glorious Exit Le Hubby’s Dad’s Birthday I’m so jealous I want to add mine too. Anyway, it’s only apt that I thought about writing a ‘June favourite’ post. I’m basically letting you know all the things I enjoyed being involved with this month. Music If you follow Phaytea’s Pulse on Facebook or Instagram, you must have noticed my bants about ‘Despacito’ by a Puertorican pop artiste Luis Forsi. It…

The Halleluyah Challenge
Alleluia.. Hallelujah… Halleluyah…. I have never really been able to stick to a particular spelling (what spelling do you prefer?) but anyway the #HalleluyahChallenge is currently quite popular amongst Nigerians on Instagram and Facebook. Not just Nigeria, if I do say so myself as CNN had something to say about it too…. I am huge fan of praise and worship. To me, it is the fastest way to key into the realm of God’s supernatural power. True praise and worship has a way of sending you into a whole new depth of gratitude, thanksgiving and adoration of God’s wonderful work. For this reason, when I heard about Nathaniel Bassey’s initiative…

One Year Wedding Anniversary And One Lesson
Whoop whoop… It’s my one year wedding anniversary today ….and I won’t choose to have my experience anyother way??? Wait! How is it one year down already? Just the other day I still misspelt my surname on a form I was filling. I sometimes forget I have to write my husband’s surname and end up writing mine….then cancel out… sigh. Time really does fly…..and I have learnt so much about being married. I thought about all the things I have learnt in one year but I have decided to write just one major point….since its just one year down… So here goes…. NEVER STOP DATING I’m not sure why I…

Pulse for June 2017
Whoop whoop! I’m glad we all got into June hale and hearty. Before I got the ‘Mrs’ tag, May used to be my favourite month in the year (because my birthday is in may) and now, I love June too….totally spoilt for choice but anyway I’m glad it’s a new month and I love the positive vibes June is starting off with. It’s my traditional wedding anniversary today and church wedding anniversary on the 4th of June 2017. So, you see why I’m stuck between May and June. Moving on, I thought about the plans I had for the blog in May..and I did pretty good. Pictures: I got to…
