Basic tips to handle 'being taken for granted'.
A public holiday on a monday is definitely bliss….Isn’t it? Here’s wishing all my muslims readers a Happy Eid el Fitr. Even though I’m not a Muslim, I get to enjoy the day off work today. Yesterday, I watched an episode of Judge Judy that re-confirmed there are people who can be so ungrateful regardless of how nice you are to them. So, a mother of 4 was sent to jail and needed to be bailed. She asked her oldest daughter to call a cousin to help sort her bail. However, the daughter mistakenly called an acquaintance of her mum who bears the same name as the supposed cousin. The…

Life Nuggets From 'Wonder Woman'.
One of the days I really didn’t feel like staying home, I grabbed my purse and headed to the cinemas. Just like that….I’m too spontaneous sometimes I fear I might get into trouble. A couple of movies were showing but I settled to watch ‘Wonder Woman’. It came with complimentary popcorn….so why not. I got my favourite spot by the aisle and settled in to watch this movie that isn’t really my favourite genre…. Have you watched Wonder Woman? I’ll have to write a post about ‘do nots’ in a cinema. Seating close to the aisle exposes you to all sort but today, allow me share lessons that I learnt…

WordSearchSeries #15: Caboodle + Girl/Guy Code
Hump day means #WordSearchSeries and #WonderWednessday on the blog and we are ready. For #WordSearchSeries, the new word we found is Caboodle. I feel it sounds like the name of a really cute puppy…what do you think? Anyway, here’s what it means: The whole number or quantity of people or things in question. Any collection in its entirety. For example: She bought the whole caboodle. I have no use for the whole caboodle. Have you heard or used the word before? You should add this word to your vocabulary if you are yet to. For #WonderWednessday, i’m wondering if there should really be forbidden areas when it comes to dating. …

3 Habits Of A Go-Getter
Amidst the bustle from the family event last week and of course unsteady and crappy network, I was still able to catch the news about Kechi, a Nigerian participating in America’s Got Talent. I immediately remembered Kechi as a plane crash survivor from an ill-fated Sosoliso flight back in 2005 (that ended the life of about 107 people). A really long time but you never forget a plane crash survivor as it’s a very rare situation…..surviving a plane crash that is. Kechi’s story is one that will motivate anyone as she did not allow her predicament deter her from pursuing her dreams. She survived the crash with scars but went…

The Halleluyah Challenge
Alleluia.. Hallelujah… Halleluyah…. I have never really been able to stick to a particular spelling (what spelling do you prefer?) but anyway the #HalleluyahChallenge is currently quite popular amongst Nigerians on Instagram and Facebook. Not just Nigeria, if I do say so myself as CNN had something to say about it too…. I am huge fan of praise and worship. To me, it is the fastest way to key into the realm of God’s supernatural power. True praise and worship has a way of sending you into a whole new depth of gratitude, thanksgiving and adoration of God’s wonderful work. For this reason, when I heard about Nathaniel Bassey’s initiative…

107 Reasons To Celebrate Life
It was such an emotional day. We laid my maternal grandpa to rest today and it was a roller coaster of emotions. Tears because he was such a kind heart and will be missed greatly. Happy because he lived an amazing 107 years on earth. It was more like a celebration of his well spent life than lamenting over a loved one passing on. A lot of people gathered (over a thousand five hundred) to celebrate his awesomeness and i am totally grateful to God it was a success. I had taken a quick nap earlier..had to wake up to write this post for Friday. I know the title says…

WordSearchSeries#14: Subjugate + Sibling Rivalry.
Hump day it is….and for #WordSearchSeries, i found #Subjugate. In my Pulse for June post, I mentioned that I’ll like to start reading paper back books. Honestly, the only time I pick up a book without thinking so much about ‘if I’ll have the time to read’ is when I have to go on a trip. Whether it’s by road or air, I always have a book. Today was one of those days, I started reading ‘The spirit of Leadership’ and that’s where I found ‘Subjugate’. Here’s what it means: Bring under domination or control, especially by conquest. Put down by force or intimidation Make subservient; forced to submit or subdue. Synonyms include, conquer,…

How to handle overbearing superiors.
We know them. We have them as colleagues . And sometimes, we have no choice but to put up with them. As much as we should be around people with positive vibes only, there will be those other people who do not get the memo. They have no idea about how to manage expectations and end up transferring aggression to the next available person. There is usually a way around these things because I will say stay away from people that spew bad vibes but what happens to you when you are stuck with them and have to put up with silliness. I put up this pic on instagram the…

Time really does fly…..and I have learnt so much about being married. I thought about all the things I have learnt in one year but I have decided to write just one major point….since its just one year down… So here goes…. NEVER STOP DATING I’m not sure why I…

Different ways people get judged on the spot.
I was running errands the other day with a friend when we saw the police had stopped two guys for driving a jeep that had dark tinted windows. Both guys seemed distressed but what really got me thinking was when my friend said the two guys might be involved in shady deals. This conclusion was made because they both wore earrings and had dreadlocks. Now, I tried to put up an argument to differ but it really didn’t get anywhere as the subject of discussion drifted into other topics. While reflecting much later at night, I thought about how easy it is to judge people on the spot just by…
